CSCS software is just a program to generate

1. Jilid Kerja (JK) either by printer or the latest version you are able to convert JK into PDF file as requested by JUPEM.
2. Generate 2 files-*.Job and *.bdy
3. Generate PA

Basically, this is the function of CSCS software.

The above diagramme is the latest version of CSCS (VERSION 10.08). The different are buttom "Read NCP file", "Read TPS file" and "Generate PDF file".

please bear in mind that at the moment, we are no allow to submit field book to JUPEM. All must in digital. At the moment, JUPEM allow all the Licensed land surveyor to use e-submit where the program will be expiry on 31 December 2007.

e-submit program is considered as semi-digital method where we are able to key in data from field book into e-submit program. Inside the e-submit program, c and m correction will be carried after you define the route. It is very easy to use but there are some cruel inside the program.

E-submit program still no stable yet because I have one case where the area computed by e-submit and CSCS program is not tally. The problem have been informed JUPEM HQ but no reply from them yet.

Basically, the function of CSCS is similar with previous version. The main difference is digital concept. All the data you are able to read from NCP.

Erosion-plan

After completed the field work, the follwoing stage is prepared the plan.

There are two main plan needed

1. Profil plan-this plan contain the chainage, height (reduced level), contour and landmark on the ground.
2. Cross Section Plan-This plan is for a particular chainage only and the value show in the plan are distance and height.

Erosion

Erosion occurred very frequently along Malaysia highway due to high rainfall at this country. Thus, qualify and profesional people needed for this kinds of project.

Before Engineer carry out his work. A proper survey need to be carried out. Cross section for this kind of work is vital for a engineer to re-design the drainage.

Before a land surveyor start the work. Please ensure that there is control point around this section. The control point is the coordinate (x,y) and TBM height (z). If the site do not have these main information, so as a land surveyor need to setup this particular control for the client. The coordinate either in cassini solder or RSO projection. Discussion is important before start this kind of work.

Interval of Cross section also important for a engineer for his work.

Regarding the CSCS software. We have upgradete the software and difference from the old version are the latest version are able to read NCP data from e-submit program from JUPEM. Another advantage is the latest CSCS software can generate jk in pdf file as requested by JUPEM.

16 ASCII files is combination of e-submit and cscs. Thus, you need these two software before you are able to submit the 16 files.

Boundary Marks in Malaysia

“Lai, is it compulsory to maintain the boundary mark?” This is the question posted by one of my client. The answer is yes and the laws stated in section 114 National Land Code 1965 under implied conditions affecting alienated land.

Under section 114 (a) National Land code, it clearly stated that the proprietor will take all reasonable steps to prevent their damage, destruction or unlawful removal.

If the proprietor fail to protect the boundary mark, Survey Officer can use section 401 National Land Code – Notice to clear boundaries by issued Form 29C. The cost of emplacing boundary marks on land shall be recoverable from proprietor as a debt due to the State Authority (under section 402).

The second question from my client is “Our department just newly bought a GPS and cost around RM200, 000, can they demarcate the boundary by this method”.

National Land Code 1965 is a legal law and clearly stated that Survey Department or Licensed Land Surveyor only can carry alienated survey. GPS is just a tool and we need to qualified person to certify the boundary is in position. If the client’s department carried out the survey. It is against section 403 National Land Code (Penalty for interference with boundary marks) and section 404 (Removal and alternation of boundary marks).
