Profession as Licensed Land Surveyor

Couple days ago, a customer called me and asked me when I can come to his place for survey his land. This is a normal question from client when we are able to mobilise and start the survey.

The first question I will ask is what type of survey the client want me to carry out either engineering survey, title survey or looking for boundary marks. Difference survey has difference requirement.

This man told me that he wanted to take up his portion from another 2 person from the sharing title. However, he thought that just asked the surveyor pegged the boundary marks on the ground and he is able to get his portion. I understand that there are surveyors doing this kind of service without telling the actual procedure and client being cheated.

The main purpose of this man is to get his own title without sharing with other parties and this is one of the title surveys. In more specific this survey is calling as partition survey. I would like to clarify that only licensed land surveyor are qualify to do this kind survey in legal channel.

Explanation and educate the client is part of land professional duty even though we are no able to get the job. Licensed land surveyor is a profession which given a licensed by government to carry out title survey and until today no others profession can able to disturb licensed land surveyor rice bowl. Thus, sharing and educate to public is vital to enable the public realise the existing of licensed land surveyor in Malaysia.
